Finished! Hokum Rock Supportive Housing Project Welcomes First Residents.

After several years of hard work from many determined individuals and partner organizations, construction at FORWARD at the Rock is now finished, on-time and on-budget! The project provides affordable and supportive housing where residents can thrive in a setting that’s safe, healthy, and accessible. The duplex features two side-by-side houses providing a lifelong home for 8 adults with autism and related disabilities, with around-the-clock staffing in each house. The first eight residents – four men and four women – have now settled into their cozy state-of-the-art new forever homes.  The project grew out of a partnership between FORWARD, the Town of Dennis, the Housing Assistance Corporation and the Department of Developmental Services, and eventually was supported by 5 additional towns — Barnstable, Yarmouth, Brewster, Chatham and Mashpee, along with the Department of Housing and Community Development, CEDAC, BlueHub Capital, and local businesses, foundations and hundreds of caring members of our local community. THANK YOU!

We have now embarked on the planning for our next affordable housing project for adults with developmental disabilities, and we ask that you support us in our effort to address the massive shortage of appropriate and affordable housing for these vulnerable members of our community.

Your community is WONDERFUL & A Special Needs Parent’s Dreams Come True!!! Thank you all for your commitment, dedication and hard work to make this much needed perfect forever home to come to life.
How can we replicate it off Cape in the Kingston/Duxbury Area?
I would LOVE to get something started here. Our Son, Marc and so many others like him, would benefit greatly by living in such a loving, safe and supportive community and environment.
With the building of an Amazon Fulfillment Center off Exit 8 on Route 3, the perfect forever jobs for our Loved Ones would be accessible.
Sounds like a Win Win for All.
Please contact me with more information.
    Sincerely,
    Mary McDonnell
